The Mystic

The Mystic

When the drop of water becomes the ocean.

As The Mystic, your true home is in the heart—and you carry within you a deep and abiding sense of connection with your loved ones, humanity and all of life.

With your emotional and intuitive nature, going deep—in relationships, spirituality and all your creative and personal pursuits—is a way of life. You’re naturally suited to spiritual exploration and soulful contemplations, and you don’t shy away from open questions and deep conversations. Your self-awareness and sensitivity serves you well not only in daily life, but also as you look ahead to death.

You’ve come to believe in the interconnectivity of life, a truth found in all the great wisdom traditions through the ages. This knowledge may be theoretical in your mind, but more likely than not, you’ve caught glimpses of this mystical unity more than once. In death, the drop of water becomes the ocean; the individual becomes the collective; the one becomes the whole. The great sages and mystics spoke of a return to oneness, to light, to love, in the moment of death.

But no matter what you believe awaits you in the beyond, death can evoke great fear and anxiety—and not only the prospect of your own death, but the loss or pain of your loved ones. Your saving grace is knowing how to access that quiet, still space within. Dive into the waters of your own being, dear Mystic, and take refuge there when grief or anxiety threatens to overwhelm you.

Transform your vulnerability into your greatest strength by committing to use your wisdom in service of others. Each day, live your inner wisdom by committing to take one action towards creating a more loving and harmonious world for yourself and the larger human family of which you are a part.

Biggest Fear

Losing the ones you love.

Questions to Contemplate

It is the body that dies—what are you beyond your body? Connect to all the layers of your being beyond the physical, to everything unseen that makes you who you are. Do you believe in an eternal soul that survives beyond death? What is the relationship between the body and the soul?

Top Regret

The creativity, gifts and dreams that you kept inside and never shared with the world.

Death Meditation

There is a Sufi meditation on death that asks us to look at the impermanent and temporary nature of life. Close your eyes and take a wider view of life and the passage of time. In the context of the whole of life and death, what trivial anxieties and concerns can you let go of? Widen your lens to connect with what matters most in this moment, and to make peace with the ultimately fleeting challenges, obstacles and hardships in your life.
